Discovery is reported for a new family of molecules consisting on entrapped metallic oxide clusters entrapped in fullerene cages.
These new compounds include Sc4O2@C80 and Sc4O3@C80 (JACS, 130, 11844-11845, 2008). The X-Ray crystal structure is
obtained by Prof. Alan Balch at UC-Davis.

In late March, Professor Stevenson begins his faculty career at the University of Southern Mississippi.
In early March, Stevenson accepts an offer from the University of Southern Mississippi to become a faculty member. Upon
acceptance of his new faculty position, Stevenson resigns his position from Luna Innovations and moves to Mississippi.
